Musician, storyteller and activist, Uncle Archie Roach, is a respected Gunditjmara (Kirrae Whurrong/ Djab Wurrung) Bundjalong Senior Elder.
He has been an important activist for Aboriginal Australia, penning emotive, story-based country/folk songs that have brought clarity and understanding to the indigenous experience, particularly its complex struggles with colonialism, helping to heal past wounds and emerge a more empathetic nation.
Archie leaves his legacy in the intent and realisation of The Archie Roach Stolen Generations Education Project.
