These are Envelopes made from Dumbo feather’s pages!
When Dumbo feather goes into newsagents almost all copies sell. Those that don’t, we collect back and sell as ’seconds’ for half price because they’re often a little bit damaged. Some though are just in no state to sell. These mini envelopes are part of an ongoing project whereby we find things to make out of the really damaged issues … It’s our goal to have no beautiful page of Dumbo feather wasted!
They were handmade for us by one of our clever readers, Kate Mason – thanks Kate.
They are available in our shop in colour-themed packs for just $15.
Colour-themes from L to R above are; Blue, Lemon, Crimson, Yellow & Red&Green.
Each pack includes …

3 x colour-themed, handmade envelopes (12×7.5cm)
+ 3 x plain white cards (11×7cm) to fit inside
+ 3 x plain white labels for the outside + 3 x seals
ps. We only have five packs of each colour theme available until the new year when their maker comes back from jetting around the world!

I love the idea. I had been thinking many of the images should be framed and on my walls! I have recently discovered Etsy.com and love supporting artists from all over the world (not to mention filling my home with many handmade, upcycled things!)
Anyway, there are a few artists doing fabulous things with used paper such as mobiles, wreaths and paper garlands…

I’m sure I’ve seen a paper artist in Melbourne or Sydney on Etsy but can’t find them at present.
Good luck, I shall anticipate having Dumbo Feather on my walls as well as on my shelf and coffee table.

Another idea – use the pages to go into hand-made journals. Cut them to size (to minimise waste), then intersperse them amongst blank sheets of paper (the same size), add thick, card board covers (maybe even covered with another Df sheet) and bind; a lovely, hand-made journal.
If you have any smaller scraps, we could use them to package seeds. We are creating a seed bank for our Permablitz group, so that we always have a stocke of seeds and seedlings ready to go for when we blitz a garden.
Please share how to make these envelopes. It would be a great reuse idea for other journals.
