Once upon a time Dumbo feather’s editor went to see a movie preview. She loved it… in a similar vein to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, this film is delicious. There’s also a great story behind its making. The director used to be in Irish band, The Frames, so naturally he went to the Frames’ lead singer to help him compose the songs for his low budget flick… Glen Hansard (the lead singer) in turn asked Czech pianist, Marketa Irglova, with whom he’d been collaborating to help him. When it came time to choose the leading actors for the film, the director couldn’t go past these two musos. Their performances are all the more compelling because they’re ‘non’-actors… The music is fantastic, it’s funny, it’s heart-wrenching… it’s great, and - getting gradually to the point - we’ve got 15 double-passes to give away to the first 15 people* to email comps (at)dumbofeather(dot)com with ONCE as the subject line.
It’s also had stellar reviews and is selling like hot cakes all over. Spielberg even said “A little movie called Once gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year”… not bad for a film they thought they’d just sell dvds of after gigs.

Seen the trailer, looks great!
Anything along the vein of Before Sunrise/ Before Sunset must be fantastic!
Tickets can be used anywhere that it’s showing… I’m sure it’ll be showing in Perth.
