Melanie Hogan’s (Issue Eight) documentary Kanyini narrated by ‘Uncle’ Bob Randall (pictured left) will be screened on SBS tomorrow (13 Feb) night as part of a tribute to Australia’s stolen generation. It’s on at 11:30pm which might be past some people’s bedtimes, but if you haven’t seen it already, we highly recommend making a late night of it.
In Issue Five we profiled Aboriginal Elder and keeper of the Women’s Lore/Law, Minmia… Minmia wasn’t taken from her family as a child and so was able to learn the lore from her great-grandmother and is in turn teaching her grand-daughter. In 20 pages we could barely do justice to her extraordinary body of knowledge and wisdom, so we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to tell you that she has recently published a book titled ‘Under the Quandong Tree’ (pictured right). It is available here.
