Harrell Fletcher's Interviews with Children

Interview between Eva and her seven-year-old daughter Maren

Maren_-_eva

Eva: Do you want to tell me about something?

Maren: I want to tell you about blankietown.

E: What is blankietown?

M: It’s a type of blanket that I really love and under it it is a town. Most people call it kids town. There is a lot of kids.

E: Do the kids in blankietown go to school?

M: No, but some go to this little house where there lives a kind woman. She is called Rosie. She teaches arts and craft. That’s where children learns art and craft. She doesn’t just teach arts and craft, she also can teach kids how to not put rubbish on the ground. That’s why blankie and me are really good friends. Thats because we love each other. Thank you for listening about my speech about blankie.

E: Do you want to talk about something else?

M: Yes, I do. Let’s start from now. James is my boss. He was the one who told me there was a town in my blankie. Now I would like to meet him.
