We’re not usually huge advocates for watching TV, but this Sunday (10 June) two Dumbo featherites are going to be on the box. First up is Apolline Kohen (Issue 11) on the ABC’s Message Stick program at 1:30pm. Then Robyn Beeche (Issue 9) is on the ABC’s Arts program between 5-6pm. There’s going to be a 15min segment about her restrospective at RMIT during the program on Katie Pye.
Apolline makes a brief appearance in “The French Connection”- The Making of Australia’s Greatest Art Commission. It’s a documentary by James Marshall. Apolline was responsible for the involvement of one of her Maningrida artists, John Marwundjul, who painted significant portions of the Museum’s interior. The film apparently includes some amazing footage of John scaling a tree to obtain a ring of bark for his works.
