thanks for popping by… You must have heard Kate, Dumbo feather’s founder, on The Conversation Hour with John Faine and Natasha from Is Not Magazine chatting about the trials and tribulations of going against the grain in mag-land.
Have a look around… see what we’re about, the kind of people you’ll read about in Dumbo feather’s pages, where to find a copy of the current issue or get the back issues, subscribe, say hi, read what our readers have written about us, and tell us what you think!
The best place to find Dumbo feather and Is Not Magazine in Melbourne is Mag Nation at 88 Elizabeth St, Melbourne 3000.
If you missed hearing Kate’s chat with John, we think that the podcast will be available for download here at some point… maybe today, who knows.

Hi Kate,
Yes i heard the conversation hour interview. Inspired me enough to go out and buy a copy in the next couple of days. Sounds like something myself and a few friends will enjoy.
Well done.

Me too, but where I live (Balwyn) is not the place to find one! Might have a chat to my local newsagent…

Hi Susy,
I am the owner of mag nation and I also live in Balwyn. If you can’t find a copy locally, email me on info@magnation.com.au and I will be happy to drop around the latest issue one evening…

Thanks Sahil - now, that’s what I call service! I haven’t checked with the Balwyn Newsagent yet…but if they don’t stock I will take you up on your very kind offer.
Cheers
Susy

Hi again Sahil. I contacted another local newsagent this afternoon and they advised that they don’t stock Dumbo Feather…that’s two newsagents I’ve tried now. Both reported at least one other person enquiring about the magazine, so Kate’s time with Jon Faine certainly had an impact. I would like to take you up on your offer of dropping by with the latest edition, if you are still happy to do this. I will contact you separately via ‘info@magnation.com.au’ to make the necessary arrangements. Thanks a mill’!

Heard the convo hour and have tried 8 newsagents before checking the website - ironically Balwyn, North Balwyn, Greythorn, Doncaster, Victoria Gardens etc. Most had heard of it, believed they had had it in the past but because no-one knew of it or bought it, did not receive further allocations. All reported similar recent requests as a direct flow on from the radio interview. May be worthwhile doing a re-run to some newsagents now that the profile has been raised. I will be going to mag nation on the weekend - I am on a mission!

Hi
I didn’t manage to hear Kate’s interview but a friend did. We have both tried hard to get the mag and were about to give up. However last week I was in tiny town of Yarrawonga and here was your mag - just HAD to buy it and am SO impressed. lady in Yarrawonga newsagent said as soon as she gets your mag in it is gone. Would love to know the history behind the title - seeing I have come on board three years late

Bought one for a friend as a birthday gift. Love the style and layout of the mag. Also enjoy the convo with Jon Faine. No luck at local newsagents, not even at Borders. Will have to get on to the back issues. Keep up the great work!

Heard the interview and was very impressed - was in town the next day and bought a copy from mag nation. Also bought myself a coffee and sat reading for the next hour, very inspired. I am also going to order some back issues - they look fabulous! This is a must have publication and I can see many of my friends getting it as a gift. I am moving to Brisbane soon and will share the story about the fabulous find. Best of luck and well done!
