I’ve always been a big advocate of ‘marketeering’, particularly for small businesses just starting out. In
a recent article for
MYOB’s Resource Centre for small/med businesses, I wrote about how invaluable that one-on-one interaction can be. I also think they’re great as a low risk means of testing out products. I always remember Louise Olsen from
Dinosaur Designs telling me in her interview for
Issue Five how, when they first started out as art students at
Paddington market, they were first selling printed fabrics. One day they had a play around with some Fimo, made some jewellery, and it practically flew off their stand. The guy next to them suggested they use resin instead of Fimo, and the rest is jurassic history!
