D feather’s founder Kate is going to be in Brisbane in a couple of weeks to be part of a panel discussing ‘Viz-pop: Design and inspiration in print’ as part of the 2008 Brisbane Writers’ Festival. The other fine folk who’ll be chatting about the topic are Carl Lindgren (founder and managing editor of Brisbane’s free street publication Map magazine), Jo Walker (editor of frankie magazine) and moderated by Phil Brown (author of two books of poetry).
We’d love to see you there … make sure you stick around afterwards and come and say hi.
19 September 2008 / 6:30-8:00pm / State Library of Queensland, Queensland Terrace. FREE!

Designers, artists and creatives are influenced by the visual culture that surrounds them. The Brisbane Writers’ Festival has brought together a panel of publishers who put design and inspiration into print.
From those gurus of graphic design, fashion, and photography - frankie magazine, Dumbo feather, pass it on and Map magazine – to the latest in architecture, furniture and interior design trends of Indesign and Design Quarterly, these publishers are capturing the visual culture of our times.
Queensland’s visual and design culture is growing, powered by iconic buildings such as the new Gallery of Modern Art, a proposed design centre and a major Queensland Government triennial event in 2009 to showcase design.
Hear about the latest design and inspiration in print with this panel of local Brisbane and national trendsetters.
