You may have heard of Tavi Gevinson by now.
First gaining prominence in the fashion world for her style blog, Tavi recently appeared on TEDxTeen to talk about pop culture and feminism, and how these two passions drove her to found a magazine for teenage girls. Having a hard time to find any strong female, teenage role models, Tavi decided to create Rookie, a space where teenage girls interact and share ideas and stories.
She may call herself a teen trying to figure it out, but we see an individual who’s fiercely doing whatever she can for her passion.
The essence of what we got from this talk is inspiring: Speak from your heart, back it up with integrity and have the courage to say, “I don’t know, I’m still figuring it out.”
