“If I should have a daughter, instead of Mom, she’s gonna call me Point B …”
Thus begins spoken word poet Sarah Kay’s talk that was featured last year on the international TED stage. Weaving her works “B” and “Hiroshima” in between her coming-of-age story, Sarah’s deeply moving performance invoked standing ovations from the audience, and a hugely successful video of approaching 1.5 million views on the TED site, alone.
The much-lauded poem, “B” was also published in hardcover as the last Domino Project book by Seth Godin (a collaboration with Amazon), in 2011.
So, here it is for you. Worth a second, third and fourth watch.
And in case you hadn’t heard, Dumbo Feather in association with Malthouse Theatre is presenting Project VOICE: Sarah Kay along with fellow spoken-word poet Phil Kaye in performance in Melbourne on Tuesday the 27th March at 6.30pm.
