A journey through Rick Amor's studio

When we sent photographer Lauren Bamford to the studio of Rick Amor, one of our favourite Australian painters, for Dumbo Feather 32, we knew she’d come back with a beautiful shoot. But, frankly, narrowing it down to the few shots we could use in the magazine almost killed us. So here, in all of its paint-spattered glory, is the full essay. Maybe we’re cheating, but that’s what the internet lets us do, right? Be sure to hit the full screen button in the bottom right corner of this slideshow widget—you won’t regret it.

Great work on this essay! In particular I think the shots of Rick where he is sitting in the studio are extremely good.

I loved the interview and photographs of Rick and his studio. There have a number of articles about Rick over the years but this provided a particularly worthwhile perspective. Congratulations on a great article !
