Dumbo feather, pass it on header image 2

A leg up…

August 29th, 2007 by D feather

Your brand here3

This is something we’ve wanted to be able to do for ages, but are only now in a position to do so… If Dumbo feather had a charter, the most important part of it would be to encourage creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. We know many of you are both of those things and so, to encourage you further, we’re allocating a limited no. of pages in each issue for you to promote what you do. We also know that readers would love to find out about the kind of things other readers create, perform, facilitate, write…
We will charge for the pages as it (obviously) costs us to produce them, but at a substantial discount from what it would normally cost for a business to advertise. To qualify, your business has to be less than two years old… but that’s the only criteria. Please email kate(at)dumbofeather(dot)com for pricing and more info.

great idea kate. but don’t sell the page short - don’t charge too little for the space. we all want you to stay in business and keep producing dumbo, so if it means paying extra for the page then i’m sure everyone is okay with that. besides it’s a tax deduction for any business.

Hi Kate, Just registered my domain name and building site now. I’m a full-time Artist into self-marketing. My paintings appeal to real art-lovers, not ‘wall-investments’. I’ll be applying for ’space’ with DF for sure! Thanks for the op!

We just turned 3… Could we pay more? :) A great idea anyway. And ideas change the world. I might be interested in doing something as a freelance writer too. So send me some words and we can go from there. xo

I think this is a great idea. I’d love some more information.

In keeping with the creativity entrepreneurial theme, I’m keen write about my brother’s so far very successful and innovative business venture (1 year old). In a traditional marketplace focussed on monopoly and profit he has created a mighty niche through partnership and profit sharing, collaboration and community, and the continuing evolution thereof.

    Lovely Kate,

This is beautiful - I was driving to the post office feeling a bit flat about my clothing business, wondering how i could reach more like-minded people and then threw up an intention that an idea come to me today. I arrive at the post office - there’s your beautiful, bountiful mag awaiting - reminding me to follow up on the advertising space you once offered to new business. Then i get home, log on to my gmail to write to you and there’s YOUR email with the advertising offer again. I JUST LOVE THIS LIFE!!!!

We have just begun our 3rd season, we started business 28th April 2006 - 3 months over the 2 year requirement - please please say it’s ok!! Obviously the dream has been alive much longer. We are a family business making handcrafted clothing. My website is http://www.unfurlcreations.com if you would like to see more. I have directed you to it before - maybe you will remember?

I love your mag and am inspired by it every time it comes. I’m excited about the Leederville evening and will be definitely coming and bringing friends.

    Thanks heaps,
    Moni xx

    Hi Kate,
I have been buying Dumbo feather since finding your first issue in my local newsagent, stood out amongst the dross, and I havent missed an issue since. I recently decided to subscribe so I could relax about not missing an issue.

I would love to be in your magazine. It is a gorgeous and inspirational space and I think at least some of your readers might be interested in what I make. I am all about creating wonderful healthy delicious food for fur kids. We are what we eat and dogs know that well, so if you give them the opportunity to eat well, they relish it. And they thrive.

let me know more when you can.
    Thanks
    Helen
